Chapter Eighteen || Theo

Liv slept just the way she did when she was a young girl but damn, seeing her there, sleeping and the way her chest moved. I was screwed for taking her to a cold winter cabin. It would be like living together again. That’s why I had trouble the last time. The cabin had two bedrooms, but I knew this girl was stubborn. She would be staying in a room with me.

I turned my attention to the roads. We had already driven for a good ten hours and I was exhausted, but I wanted some considerable road damage before we swapped again.

I knew one thing about everything going on, was I loved that girl more than anything. I wanted to tell her this week how much she meant to me. But everything ate my up inside. As much as I wanted her, she shouldn’t want me.

I always fought a war within.

The music was nothing but a faint background noise, my thoughts roamed my mind.

Time went by slowly, but we had been together for three months. The ability to hide it from her aunt and uncle would be difficult. How to explain my feelings for her was also something that I just couldn’t talk about with them.

My fears prevented my head from doing anything. I had never done anything like this before, especially wanting someone so badly as I wanted her. I would continue to be chaste for her though, after Derick, I would never touch her unless she initiated it.

When we got closer to our destination, my eyes felt like there was cayenne pepper in it, I heard stirring and looked over to see her wake with a stretch. The way her body looked in that outfit, she was like poison ivy and I was addicted to the itch. I wanted to scratch to relieve the pain.

But I’d want to keep that itch, forever.

“Morning, sleepyhead. You were able to sleep well enough for a car ride?” I asked her, before she placed her hand on my knee and unbuckled.

“I slept wonderfully.” She leaned over and kissed my cheek.

“Damn, I wish you were kissing these lips, but I have to drive. Unless you want to drive the last leg of the race?”

“I’d love that.” I pulled over and we got out of the car to swap places. We walked into each other in the middle and I kissed her, taking her further into my grasp. When the kiss broke, she sounded breathless.

“Thank you for the proper kiss,” I exclaimed, and she wrapped her arms around me. Hugging me tightly, the warmth washed over me.

“Thank you, Teddy. I love when we can feel free and like we don’t have to look over our shoulder every time we’re together.”

I knew what she was getting at, I hated it too, but we must. I kissed her forehead and we stepped back from each other.

“Drive us to our cabin.” She nodded eagerly, backed up, looked both ways before we got into the car.
